Dear Ms. Aquino:
In accordance with the National Employment Recovery Strategy 2021-2022, the Department of Tourism, as member of the NERS Task Force, will be conducting the Tourism Sectoral Consultation in preparation for the conduct of the National Job Summit 2021 in accordance with the NERS 8-point agenda.
The Tourism Sectoral Consultation aims to gather sectoral perspectives on how industries are dealing with the pandemic, what their preparations are as the government re-opens the economy, and what the government can do to support them. Also, the sectoral consultation endeavors to gather commitments from industries to create employment opportunities to help the economic recovery efforts of the Government.
To ensure a whole-of-society approach, the DOT will be inviting representatives from the DOT regional offices, national tourism associations, regional tourism associations and tourism stakeholders from the following sectors: accommodation, travel and tours, tourist transport, MICE, and other tourism related establishments. The results of the Sectoral Consultation will then be presented during the Pre-Summit for Employers on 16 April 2021 and on the National Job Summit at the Malacañang Palace on 01 May 2021.
In view of the foregoing, we would like to invite you, the Board Members and/or Officers to attend the upcoming TOURISM SECTORAL CONSULTATION scheduled on 8 April 2021.
