Re: Release of financial assistance to tourism workers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic
Dear Mr. Clemente:
The Department of Tourism (DOT) is pleased to inform you that we will be implementing the release of financial assistance amounting to Five Thousand Pesos (PhP 5,000.00) for our displaced tourism workers, as granted under Republic Act No. 11494 or the Bayanihan to Recover as One Act.
DOT-Accredited Primary and Secondary Tourism Enterprises that were financially affected by COVID-19 may apply for financial assistance on behalf of their employees. Applications shall be submitted to the DOT Regional Office with jurisdiction over the tourism enterprise. Attached are guidelines for application (ANNEX A), as well as a copy of the Department of Labor (DOLE)DOT Joint Memorandum Circular No. 2020-001 (ANNEX B) for your reference.
With your unrelenting support and commitment, the DOT is confident that we will be able to fulfill our mission of building a better and more sustainable future of our industry.
