II. Tourism in COVID-19 Crisis - Embracing the New Normal (April 30, 2020, 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.)
Brief Description
This course will give insights on COVID-19 and its effect to the tourism industry from the perspective of epidemiology. The speaker will tackle practical tips, guidelines and what precautionary measures should be considered for the tourism industry to cope and move towards post COVID-19 situation.
Participants
Targeted participants are tourism professionals including managers, supervisors and workers from tourism enterprises such as tourist accommodation facilities, travel and tour operators, MICE facilities, food establishments and other tourism related enterprises, tour guides and other tourism front-liners.
Trainer
Dr. Edsel Maurice T. Salvana is the Director of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology at the National Institutes of Health at the University of the Philippines Manila, and is clinical Associate Professor for Global Health at the University of Pittsburgh. He trained in infectious diseases and tropical medicine in Cleveland, Ohio, USA. Dr. Salvana has co-authored over 60 papers in international conferences and peer reviewed journals and written 12 book chapters and review articles.
