DESCRIPTION: The annual Duman Festival is a culinary exposition cum cultural show where people can eat the best Kapampangan food "al fresco" and in the comfort of traditional and contemporary Kapampangan songs and performances plus a special presentation entitled "Gintu ing Kule ning Daya" (Gold is the Color of Blood) at 7:00 p.m. from the choir called Artista.Rita directed by a Sta. Rita native, Andy Alviz (resident choreographer of Miss Saigon Manila and producer of the famous album "Kapampangan Ku").

5th World Ecotourism Conference POSTPONED.NOTICE OF POSTPONEMENT
5th World Ecotourism Conference 2013

In view of the recent events that adversely affected Central Visayas, the Philippines Department of Tourism and DiscoveryMice have decided to postpone the 5th World Ecotourism Conference slated on November 13 – 15, 2013 in Cebu City and Bohol to the first quarter of 2014. The rescheduling was deemed necessary to give way for the national and local government units to complete their post activities, as well as give chance for the local people of earthquake-stricken Bohol and Cebu to recover from the recent catastrophe.

The Travel Agency Operations Course is a basic skills training program focusing on outbound travel for new travel professionals. It has been designed to meet the growing demand for well- trained staff in the travel industry.

The course materials have been produced by a team of travel professionals and training specialists from the airlines, travel agency, and tour operations businesses and are reviewed periodically in accordance with IATA standards. Training manuals used are based on training manuals used by the Association of South East Asian National Tourism Associations (ASEANTA).


The Philippines Department of Tourism headed by Secretary Ramon R. Jimenez, Jr. is pleased to announce the implementation of the ASEAN Mutual Recognition Arrangement on Tourism Professionals (ASEAN MRA-TP) signed by the ASEAN member countries last November 09, 2012.

The ASEAN MRA on Tourism Professionals is a significant component in the ASEAN Economic Community Integration by 2015, which will enable the mobility of employment for skilled tourism labour within the region or the movement of tourism professionals among member countries. The significant element to this arrangement is the recognition of skills and qualifications of working tourism professionals from different ASEAN countries.

Conference on Tourism Governance


The Philippines Department of Tourism is pleased to announce the holding a ground-breaking event in the annals of the tourism industry and local governance thru the conduct of the 1ST NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON TOURISM GOVERNANCE with the theme “Sustainability and Inclusivity in the Governance of Tourism Destinations, ” on November 25-26, 2013, SMX Convention Center, SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City, Metro Manila.

Held in partnership with the University of the Philippines - Asian Institute of Tourism (UP-AIT) and the Tourism Foundation, Inc. (TFI), the event is designed to provide the necessary information to enlighten the participants on the roles, responsibilities and opportunities open to local government units that are pursuing tourism as a sustainable development tool.

RDC - R3 takes campaign to national consciousness!


 Congressman Joseller “Yeng” Guiao, 1st district of Pampanga, has partnered with lone-nominee to the chairmanship of the Regional Development Council – Region III, Governor Wilhelmino Sy-Alvarado of Bulacan, in mounting a widespread campaign to redirect the planned Airport Express Railway (AER) from Malolos City – Caloocan - FTI Taguig down south to Manila / NAIA - Clark up north instead.

This was the announcement made by Regional Director Ronaldo Tiotuico of the Department of Tourism – Region III in a press statement issued recently.

Tiotuico said that, in a focused – group discussion held on October 10, 2013 at Hiyas Convention Center in Malolos City to tackle the challenges and issues vis-à-vis the planned Airport Express Railway, a resolution to this effect will soon be issued by the regional development council invoking the feasibility of redirecting the DOTC - proposed commuter train system from south to north of Manila.

Tourism and Water highlight tourism expo!

NORTHPHIL EXPO in Clark to share wonders of tourism & water with the world!

An international expo at the SM City Clark will share with the world the wonders of water and tourism in North Philippines (Northphil Expo) on November 15-17, 2013.

Dubbed NorthPhil Tourism and Travel Expo 2013, the event will showcase the region’s water resources management and conservation efforts in supporting the United Nations International Year of Water and World Tourism Day theme Tourism and Water: Protecting our Common Future.

 The NorthPhil expo is a public-private partnership effort of the northern regional offices of the Department of Tourism (DOT), the Association of Tourism Officers of Central Luzon (ATOCEL), and the Philippine Exhibits and Themeparks Corporation (PETCO).

DOT Central Luzon Director Ronnie P. Tiotuico cited NorthPhil’s vast marine and fresh water resources as among the diverse tourism attractions to be featured in the expo.

“From white sand beaches to the country’s longest and largest river (Cagayan River), North Philippines is teeming with water resources between the West Philippine Sea and the Pacific Ocean,” Tiotuico said.

World Tourism Day Run

The Philippines Department of Tourism – Central Luzon, together with the Alliance of Travel and Tour Agencies of Pampanga (ATTAP) and the Pampanga Agents Travel Society (PATS), will lead the celebration of WORLD TOURISM DAY on September 29, 2013, Sunday, with a massive FUN RUN at the Clark Parade Grounds starting at 5:00 in the morning.

The forthcoming event will usher in the coming of age of the travel and tourism industry of Central Luzon as it now begins to evolve to greater stature due to the forging of a stronger partnership between the government and the private sector. It symbolizes the achievements of the private sector in bringing about a good number of foreign and local tourists and travelers into the region as it begins to hit the 2M mark in visitor arrivals since 2012. Rugby Tournament for A CauseDear Tourism Industry Board,

The 10th International Invitational Fat Boy Tens RUGBY Tournament is set to roll out in Clark at the PAF Challenger Field on September 7, 2013 where some 350 players and accompanying persons from 16 foreign and local teams – from Hong Kong and around the globe - are set to compete in a game of rubgy for charitable causes.

This was the announcement made by Regional Director Ronaldo Tiotuico of the Department of Tourism – Region III in a press statement issued recently.

The same set of players is scheduled to mount their Charity Golf Tournament a day before at the Mimosa Golf and Country Club on Sept. 6.

This annual event, as initiated by the Pot Bellied Pigs of Hong Kong, is meant to generate some P6M in donations from well-meaning international company sponsors and charity auctions inorder to help assuage the plight of disadvantaged children in Angeles City including the development of the game of rugby in the Philippines while at the same time contribute towards the generation of more visitor arrivals into the country.
